Web Screen Mirror

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 6, 2026

Welcome to DropCore: Web Screen Mirror. Your privacy is our absolute priority. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding your data when you use our application. By using our application, you agree to the terms described in this policy.

1. Purpose of the Application and Target Audience

DropCore: Web Screen Mirror (hereinafter referred to as "DropCore" or "the app") is designed as a secure productivity and utility tool. The primary purpose of this application is to allow users to cast their mobile screen to a larger local display (such as a PC, Mac, or Smart TV) in real-time. This application is heavily utilized by:

  • Content Creators: Using a larger screen as a wireless camera monitor while recording from a distance.
  • Game Streamers: Casting mobile gameplay to a larger display for better visibility or local capturing.
  • Professionals & Educators: Sharing documents, slides, or apps wirelessly during local presentations.

To facilitate these specific use cases, the application requires the ability to capture your screen. We explicitly declare our data handling practices regarding this capture process below.

2. Core Technology, Data Flow, and Network Rules

DropCore utilizes standard WebRTC and Peer-to-Peer (P2P) technology to cast your screen. This means the video data flows directly from your mobile device to your receiving screen over your local network.

Strict Local Network Requirement: This application will only function if both devices are connected to the exact same Wi-Fi network. It is designed this way for your security. The app will intentionally fail to connect over different networks or public internet connections, ensuring your stream cannot be intercepted remotely.

Note on Audio: To ensure the smoothest, fastest, and most stable video performance, this application intentionally does not stream audio. We highly recommend connecting your phone to a Bluetooth speaker or TV soundbar for your audio needs. Because we do not capture audio, your microphone privacy is completely secure.

We do not collect, store, record, or transmit your video stream to any external servers. There is no "man-in-the-middle" processing your stream. Your screen data belongs entirely to you and remains strictly within your local environment.

3. Active Status and Device Lock Behavior

We believe you should always be in full control and aware of when your screen is being shared:

  • Persistent Notification: Whenever a successful connection is established and your screen is actively being mirrored, a permanent notification will be displayed on your Android device. This guarantees you are always aware of the active sharing session.
  • Screen Lock Disconnection: For your privacy and to prevent background battery drain, if you lock your device screen (the screen turns off), the mirroring connection will be instantly terminated. You must keep your screen unlocked to maintain the video stream.

4. No Account or Sign-In Required

We believe in frictionless and secure usability. DropCore does not require you to sign in, create an account, or provide any credentials. Your privacy is 100% protected and anonymous from the exact moment you launch the app.

5. Permissions Requested and Their Usage

To provide our core mirroring functionality, our application requests the following Android permissions. We strictly adhere to Google Play's Prominent Disclosure requirements regarding sensitive permissions:

  • Screen Capture (MediaProjection API): This is the core permission required to mirror your screen. It is used strictly in real-time to capture your display and send it directly to your receiving device. We do not save, record, or share your screen data with anyone or any server. Once the mirroring session is stopped, the capture process ends immediately.
  • Foreground Service: Used to display the ongoing notification so you are actively aware that a screen capture is in progress.
  • Network and Wi-Fi Access: Required to establish the secure connection (signaling process) between your devices to initiate the local stream.

6. Data Collection and Third-Party Sharing

We believe in a transparent and secure experience. Therefore:

  • We do not collect any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as names, emails, or phone numbers.
  • We do not integrate third-party trackers, analytics, or advertisement SDKs that secretly harvest your device data.
  • We do not share, sell, or rent any information to third parties, simply because we do not collect any data in the first place.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

DropCore is safe for general audiences. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Because our application operates entirely locally and does not collect any user data whatsoever, parents can feel confident letting their children use the app. If you are a parent and have any concerns, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app features or legal requirements. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the app after any changes signifies your acceptance of the updated policy.
